GAIN is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and is recognised as a non-profit foundation from the Swiss Federal Supervisory Board for Foundations.
The Geneva office provides direction and support to the network of offices around the world in several areas, including communications, knowledge leadership, legal services, human resources, and finance. GAIN Geneva also supports programme design and management in the areas of adolescent nutrition, children diets, demand creation, food fortification, food financing, urban governance for nutrition, and workforce nutrition.
The headquarters serves an important role in representing GAIN at international organisations which lead policy and set norms around health, agriculture, and food, such as the World Food Programme (WFP), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
GAIN also engages with other Swiss-based international organisations, as well as with the Swiss Government. GAIN’s presence in Geneva - a city with a long tradition of hosting international organisations that foster multilateral and multisectoral cooperation - regularly offers strategic opportunities to raise nutritious food systems as a critical component to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
