Ruth joins GAIN from BRAC International where she was the Regional Director for Africa for 4 years. Over the years she played crucial roles in top leadership positions in various local and international organisations (Director Living water International and Country Director - SOS Children’s Villages Kenya, among others) involved in development that include areas of child rights, welfare, and education, health, Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, Agriculture and food security, Youth empowerment, advocacy, and emergencies.
Ruth’s professional background and key experiences cover a period of over 20 years gained from a multiplicity of organisations both locally and internationally in different countries that include Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Benin, Ethiopia, Malawi, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and the Central Africa Republic.
Her strengths are particularly well developed in (i) Visioning and Strategy Development, (ii)Human Rights advocacy and equality (iii) Human Capital Development (including performance management), Innovation and Capacity Building, (iii) Organisation Culture, change management and Team Building, (iv) Resource Mobilisation and Capital Resource Management (V)Governance and financial management among others
