EatSafe conducted a Story Sourcing activity to provide a nuanced view of the consumers and vendors that live in Hawassa and regularly visit the Aroge Gebeya traditional food market. EatSafe recruited four experienced local journalists with community ties to be Story Scouts who interviewed a total of 60 people in Aroge Gebeya, resulting in 24 unique and compelling stories. Through this activity, four themes emerged: Adventures with Food; Community Support; Dreams and Aspirations; and Family Dramas. EatSafe developed an interactive website to display these stories, as well as a supporting memo.
