Investment in adolescent health is key not only to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, but also to allow future societies to grow and thrive; yet more than 3000 adolescents die every day. To address the issue and work towards a solution, UN Agencies have now come together providing guidance on how to improve adolescent health.
GAIN, together with the WHO, co-hosted the World Health Assembly side event titled ‘Accelerated Action for the Health of Adolescents (AA-HA!) A Never Before Moment for countries to ACT NOW’, on Thursday, 25 May.
The engaging youth-led discussion focused on:
- Stimulating action on adolescent health
- Lessons learned from country experiences in advancing intersectoral action for adolescent health
- How to accelerate commitments to adolescent health
