Food systems are geared towards meeting demand and generating commercial returns. They are not necessarily geared towards improving diets. But the crisis in poor diet quality—driving both undernutrition and conditions such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension–means that diets must improve and food systems become a bigger part of the solution. This talk explored how governments and businesses can begin to shape food systems to deliver healthier diets.
