Global conflicts, drastic climate change, economic slowdown among other factors have led to a food crisis of a humongous nature. According to a report of the World Food Programme, as many as 828 million people go to bed hungry every night.
The number of those facing acute food insecurity has soared – from 135 million to 345 million – since 2019. A total of 49 million people in 49 countries are teetering on the edge of famine. In light of the critical situation, the session will deliberate on-

- Improving soil health & quality
- Moving beyond the goal of No Hunger (SDG 1)
- Ensuring basic nutritional needs (especially of children and lactating mothers) are met
