Ann Tutwiler has worked at senior levels in foundations, not-for-profit organisations, research institutes, the private sector, and the US Government. At the US Department of Agriculture, she was the Global Food Security Coordinator and helped develop President Obama’s Feed the Future strategy. She served as the first woman Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and led Bioversity International from July 2013 to February 2019, where her work was recognised by the award of the 2023 Food Planet Prize for its groundbreaking Biodiversity Index. She is currently a Senior Fellow with the Meridian Institute and serves on the Expert Review Committee for the Food and Agriculture Benchmark for the World Benchmarking Alliance. She is also a Board member of CABI.
