Transforming food systems presents a 'win-win' for policy-makers to meet the critical international commitments to reduce GHG emissions at the same time as addressing hunger and all forms of malnutrition, promoting health, improving resilience and advancing equitable livelihoods.
This event will convene leaders in conservation, nutrition, and food systems innovation to highlight some of the most critical game changing solutions needed to transform food systems, elevate the importance of food systems to the global agenda for climate and nature, and to translate commitments into action to achieve systems-level change we need for a sustainable food future.

In 2021, UN Secretary-General António Guterres will convene a Food Systems Summit as part of the Decade of Action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The Summit will launch bold new actions to deliver progress on all 17 SDGs, each of which relies to some degree on healthier, more sustainable and equitable food systems.

Almost a year ago, the Food Systems Dashboard, the first dashboard that collects country-level data across all components of the food system, was launched. Today, the Dashboard contains over 200 indicators that measure components, drivers, and outcomes of food systems at the country level.
