Zerene Haddad joins Chicoa with 10 years of experience working in conflict and forced migration contexts.

Her previous experience has a strong focus on policy, advocacy and fundraising, as well as project design and implementation in relation to education, social-cohesion and livelihoods.

Her experience prioritised linking grassroot interventions to broader international organisations and geopolitical interests in an effort to improve coordination and create coherent emergency responses. She holds two masters degrees - a MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from Oxford University and a MPhil in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa from the University of Pretoria.

She is determined to bring a strong gender-sensitive and intentional approach to Chicoa at all levels of the business and its impact projects. Zerene is a strong advocate for business and sustainable development projects as a means to provide equitable and viable solutions to many socio-economic issues that affect our communities.
